C4 olefins is an important raw material for chemical industry, depositing of iron, copper, nickel and other metal components on the catalyst are easy to inactivation in the organic sulfur compounds and reduced production capacity in chemical process. So the restriction of sulfur content in the C4 olefins takes on significant meaning, and the searching to high efficiency, economical and environmental protection method has also been emergency. There are two methods studied for this purpose. The adsorbents of 13X loaded NaOH and exchanged with Mg2+,Ca2+,Ba2+ cations were prepared respectively. Dimethyl disulfide (DMDS) has been used as a organic sulfur model compound to evaluate the adsorption efficiency of these modified zeolites. The affect factors of metal cations and metal cation content on zeolite, NaOH concentrations, and gas space velocity were investigated. The deep-desulfurization performance of such adsorbents has been evaluated through fixed-bed adsorption technique with 1-butene containing DMDS. The results show that the metal-based adsorbent developed in this work is effective for selectively adsorbing the organic sulfur compounds, even the organic sulfur compounds in C4 olefins. In the article, taking 1-chlorbutyl-3-methylimidazolium, anhydrous aluminum muriate, anhydrous iron trichloride and cuprous chloride as raw material, composing AlCl3-[BMIM]Cl, FeCl3-[BMIM]Cl and CuCl-[BMIM]Cl) ionic liquid. The desulfurization effects by the molar ratio of metallic halide and [BMIM]C1 in the ionic liquid, desulfurization temperature and desulfurization time are researched. The results of experiments show that AlCl3-[BMIM]Cl and FeCl3-[BMIM]Cl more suitable to desulfurization of C4 olefins. While the molar ratio of AICl3 (or FeCl3) and [BMIM]C1 in the ionic liquid being 2:1, adding amount of ionic liquid being 4%, reaction period being 50min, the desulfidation ratio for C4 olefins reaches 95%.
