The series of waterborn polyurethane(WPU) was prepared with isophorone di-isocyanate (IPDI), polytetrahydrofuran glycol(PTMG),2,2-bis-(hydroxylmethyl) propionic acid (DMPA), ethylene glycol(EG) and ethylenediamine(EDA).The hard segment content was changed by adjusting the quantity of IPDI,PTMG and EG. The effects of DMPA content on the particle size and the stability of the emulsion and the mechanical properties and the water-uptake properties of the film were studied. And according to the effects of hard segmeng content on the emulsion and the micro and the macro properties, the proper technics were obtained. The WPU with were prepared and the effects of the dosage of PDS/FPDS on the emulsion, including paricle size, viscosity and stability of the emulsion, were discussed. The results showed that as dosage of PDS/FPDS increased, the particle size of modifiled WPU increased, the centrifugal stability became low, the viscosity of the modified emulsion increased at first and then decreased. Furthermore, FTIR,DSC,EDS were used to chracterise the properties and structure of the film. FTIR indicated that PDS/FPDS was grafted on the WPU chain. With the content of PDS/FPDS increased, the degree of microphase-separated morphology of modified WPU was increased, the surface-water-air contact angle increased and the bibulous rate of film was lower. EDS showed that the fluorine and silicon link segments removed to the surface of the film.
