Ultrasonic shot peening technology is a new type of surface treatment technology, the principles of Ultrasonic shot peening is the use of ultrasound transferred into the mechanical vibration impact loads acting on the metal surface in order to achieve the purpose of strengthening or forming metal sheet. Based on theoretical study, the technology of ultrasonic shot peening is studied at first step. According to the experimental results, the power of ultrasonic shot peening device, shot peening time and sheet thickness are three major shot peening parameters that effecting on the shot peening effects; based on the physical process of ultrasonic shot peening, the simulation of a single firing pin and five firing pins are studied with the ABAQUS / Explicit software. The main work in this paper can be concluded as follows:1.The physical process of the metal surface treated by the ultrasonic shot peening shock wave is studied; theoretical calculation model for residual stress and the depth of pit on the metal surface are analyzed.2.The Q235 steel is treated with homemade ultrasonic shot peening equipment, the surface residual stress and micro-hardness are measured. Compared to the residual stress value and hardness value of the original sample, ultrasonic shot peening has played an obvious enhanced role; observing the forming curvature of peened specimen, the effects of different shot peening parameters of samples forming are analyzed in brief.3.The peened specimens are treated by electrolytic polishing layer by layer, via the measurements of different layer thickness, residual stress and hardness distribution of specimen thickness direction are analyzed.4.Based on the process of ultrasonic shot peening, finite element model is established using the finite element analysis software ABAQUS / Explicit,the process of ultrasonic shot peening acting on the Q235 steel sheet is simulated, energy and residual stress variation of Q235 steel in the course of ultrasonic shot peening treatment are analyzed.
