Automobile hub bearing is one of the most important automobile components. Its strengthand life are closely interrelated with heat treatment. During quenching process, inside of partphase transformation and volume change lead to residual stress. The article simulate the hubbearing quenching process and obtain the temperature variation, phase transformation andresidual stress distribution.1.On the base of the heat treatment theory, we build the model of bearing heat transfer andsimulate the temperature variation of bearing quenching process. The temperature-dependentproperties of material are taken into account in this paper. The calculation and disposal of phasetransformation latent heat is discussed. The phase transformation latent heat is treated as theinner heat source in every element, and program the user subroutine to gain the iterationconvergence, thus improving the computation precision. This is prepared for further studying thefields of the phase and stress.2.We build phase transformation model according TTT curve of GCr15 and Scheil principle.User subroutine of finite element analysis software ABAQUS for simulation of the phasetransformation is programmed. We also measure quenching retained austenite volume fractionand compare with simulation result, they are same.3.According thermo-elastic-plastic theory, we build quench residual stress model toresearch the thermal and phase transform stress. We simulate hub bearing quenching residualstress distribution by sequentially coupled thermal-stress analysis. We modify numerical modelaccording to residual stress test result for precise simulation result. At last, we research influenceof cryogenic treatment to control residual austenitic and reduce residual stress by experiment,and found reasonable cryogenic treatment temperature and time could cut down residual stress sharply.The article research the bearing quenching process by simulation and experiment method,analyze the temperature, phase and residual stress change and guide the practical manufacture.and it make preparations for future quenching treatment digitalize and intelligentialize.
