Fluorocarbon surfactant is an important surfactant, which has unique properties: high surface activity, great heat resistant, chemical resistant, water proof and oil repellent. They are widely used in detergent, cosmetic, food, rubber, plastic, photosensitive materials and oil industries. Fluorocarbon surfactants enlarge the application fields of surfactants as they can be used in fields which hydrocarbon surfactants can not be qualified. In this paper, we applied Hexafluoropropylene epoxide (HFPO) and Polyoxy ethrlene nonyl phinyl ether as bulk materials to synthesis a series of oxy-perfluoroalkylated one-end-capped fluorocarbon surfactants. The structures of products were confirmed by FTIR and NMR, respectively. Their surface activity, chemical stability and cloud point were carefully measured. The results indicate that all these fluoropolymers have extremely high surface activity with low CMC (between 10-5~10-6mol/L)and lowγCMC(under 30 mN/m). Results calculated by curve fitting method with the Gibbs equation prove show the adsorption properties which can prove that the molecules are arranged tightly above by the solution surface. Surface activity in the alkaline and acid solution shows a pretty high chemical stability. The obtained fluorocarbon surfactants could be applied as substitute of perfluorooctane derivate in wetting agent, flatting agent, foaming agent and antifouling agent due to their outstanding surface properties.
