This research utilize these two highquality materials into making and repairing of die, Recently die is thought as cornerstone of industry development. Shallow current argon tungsten arc welding (TIG) maraging steel surfacing metal powder-cored wire is developed in the paper, This wire is used in making and repairing of die, The welding consumable take advantage of quick-adjusting ingredient, dependable in metallargical conjoint unite, reducing die be heated, and the deposited metal has cohesion of high-strength and high-toughness, low coefficient of thermal expanding is provided with developed metal. All these advantage make the wire has extensive prospect.Alloy system of the surfacing wire is chose on the basis of synthetical study. Heat-treatment processing is decided by experiment, which conclude quench and ageing processing. Effect of different heat-treatment processing on structure and properties of deposited metal is studied, Law of influence of content of alloy Ti, Al, Mo on the hardness of surfacing layer and mechanics properties of deposited metal is discussed.The characteristic of strengthening, toughening, and hardening is analysed by microtechnique, and the mechanism of strengthening is extensively researched in the paper.The research results show that the maraging steel metal powder-cored wire takes the advantage of having processing properties, and high hardness of surfacing layer, the tensile strength of deposited metal has reached the standard of the abroad of the same kind, the developed wire for surfacing die in this paper is of great importance.
