Relaxor ferroelectric singal crystals of 0.92 Pb(Zn113Nb213)03-0.O8PbTiO3(PZN-PT) solid solution system near the morphotropic phase boundary (MPB) were grown by the vertical Bridginan method under a Pb-rich condition using PbO as a self flux. The effect of growth condition of perovskite PZN-PT single crystals was examined. The decreased flux ratio was beneficial to the crystallization. Relatively slow falling rate of crucible was good to maintain the metastable growth of crystals. The increased soaking temperature had a positive effect on the crystallization while resulted in a decreased Zn/Nb ratio. The crystal size was about 7rnni in diameter by 10mm long. XRD patterns showed that crystals were phase pure perovskite with rhombohedral symmetry (c=4.0l9A, a89.81 0 )...
