Parallel Strand Lumber (PSL), a new kind of wood梑ased panel, is an important research achievement. PSL utilizes low quality veneers and small diameter woods to produce decorative profile and structural sheet, which has high intensity and large in dimension. Abroad scientists have done great deal and have published some works on PSL抯 manufacture process and processing machinery. But we抮e in the beginning of researching of PSL. As a result, veneer clipper, one of the most important equipment in the manufacturing of PSL, hasn抰 been researched or put into produce in our country. The dissertation makes a detailed research on the design principles of veneer梒lipper抯 cutting equipments. So the key research is on the cutting principle of veneer梒lipper, the process of chipless cutting, calculated method of cutting power and the defination of the main parameters of veneer梒lipper. The reasons why we study on the cutting principles and the most rational cutting parameters are to discover the most rational design parameters through theoretical analysis and experimental verify. Those parameters are not only the most important but the most rudimentary ones. In addition, we have researched on cutting power of chipless cutting by circular saw which hasn抰 tooth, which filled in the gaps of calculated method of chipless cutting in wood cutting technology. The dissertation抯 research achievement will provide reasonable theoretical principle in the design of veneer-clipper.
