Membrane extraction process is a new separation technology which combines liquid-liquid extraction with membrane process. This process has special advantages over conventional extraction process. The research of membrane extraction ,the design and application of microporous hollow fiber modules have been carried out successively in recent years. and the useful conclusions have been obtained. In this paper, the extraction of copper is carried out and studied by using kerosene solutions of P2O4~. P507 or N901 and hydrophobic hollow fiber membrane modules. The effect of different operation conditions on the extraction efficiency and mass transfer coefficient are also studied. The new correlation of total mass transfer coefficient is suggested, and this can be expressed for the extraction system with chemical or physical reactions. In addition, the advantage of the membrane extraction without entrainment has been proved firstly by using advanced measure technique. Based in research results of this paper, the useful conclusions are supplied for mass transfer mechanism, designing and application of membrane extractor.
