l,3-propanediol was widely used in chemical industiy and fabrics industiy as an important material. At present China is lack of the producing technolygy. So it is very necessary to study the manufacture of 1 ,3-propanediol.At first, a set of gas-liquid-solid batch autoclave equipment was established. The catalysts and process of preparing i,3-propanediol by hydroformylation of epoxide were detailed studied. The kinetics and mechanism of this reaction were also proposed. The conclusions were as follows:1.For the first time, a cobalt carbonyl catalyst prepared under low pressure (12 atm) is applied to the process of preparing 1 ,3-propanediol by hydroformylation of epoxide. The process of preparing the catalyst was detennined by using a phase transfer catalyst and solvent. The catalyst has lower cost and better activity and good industry application prospect.2. With the hydroformylation catalyst, the process of hydroformylation of epoxide was studied including total reaction pressure.. CO partial pressure.. catalyst amount~ concentration of EO. The optimum reaction conditions were determined as following: the pressure 70 atm, the md ratio between H2 and CO 2 to 1, the temperature 80CC, the concentration of cobalt salt 0.O8OmoIIL, and the concentration of epoxide 1.85molIL.3.For the first time, a reasonable mechanism for the process of preparing 1 ,3-propanediol by hydroformylation of epoxide was proposed. Using this mechanism, GC-MS analysis results were reasonably explained04. By experiments, the reaction system was confirmed as diffusion-controlled system. The diffusion coefficients under different temperature were calculated and expressed as following:kga1.566 X lO2exp(-1.651X1&/RT)the relative deviations between the diffusion coefficients calculated by the equation and those obtained by experiments were less than 1%.Thus, the kinetics equation for this system was obertained as following:rA=1 .569x102exp(-1.651x104/RT)PAthe relative deviations between the partial pressure of CO calculated by the equation and those obtained by experiments were less than 5%.The present studies have provided foundations for the further reseaches of the 1 ,3-propanediol by hydroformylation of epoxide and have an important guidance for the industrial produce.
