Study On Greens System In Ecological Construction Of A City

This paper dissertates on the main features of an ecological city and its constitutive elements by defining " ecological city " .Through such a definition ,the paper states the significant role of greens system in the construction of an ecological city. By distinguish of the different stages of the city development in China, the author puts forward that the task of the city plan at present lies in the improvement and amelioration of the city's hard environment, esp .that of the greens system. In this paper, the Landscape Ecology model (patch-corridor-matrix) is adopted to analyse the urban greens system, at the same time, a way of estimation, the principle of plan and the way of thinking are provided. Finally, the author makes a sample study on HongShan District in WuHan and puts forward a preliminary plan for its ecological construction. Contents:I .Introduction. In this part, the theoretical foundation of the system is discussed and its Landscape ecology is analysed. On this basis, a classification of the greens system is made and a way of thinking as well as the principle of plan are put fonvard.IV.A sample study. In this part, HongShan District is studied and a preliminary construction plan is provided. Initiative viewpoints in this paper:I . The paper makes a distinction between "soft" and "hard" environment construction. According to the requisites of an ecologicalcity-----the correspondence of the society, economy and nature, the paperdefines "soft" environment as human environment and administration systemof a city while "hard" environment is defined as the greens system, etc.II .The paper points out that the characteristics of a city (both natural & cultural ) should be maintained under the principle of the Landscape ecology plan.III. Great attention should be paid to the entirety of the city environment, that is, when we are constructing the center of a city, we can not ignore the environment construction for the city skirts.
