The production of blade takes a great percentage in forging products every year. There are many problems in this kind of forging parts. To solve these problems, it is seriously needed in this field to apply CAD and numerical simulation into the production. In China, many companies follow behind the companies in developed countries in this field. For example, in some foreign company, it costs only 3-4 days to design a new blade while in our country it needs much longer to do the same work. Now in the field of CAD, there is no commercial software available. If a forging company wants to get a CAD system, the only way is to develop a new system on base of another software, such as AUTOCAD. In this paper, parts of the CAD were finished with the help of WuXi Turbine Blade Works (WTBW), and there are still some problems to be solved by the corporation of the university and WTBW in the future. In this paper, the main ideas are: (1) Development of a CAD system for designing blade. (2) By the use of SUPERFORGE 2000, numerical simulation is done to analysis the forming process of blade. The author introduced the CAD system in this paper. By the use of OBJECTARXARX and VISUAL C++, a CAD system was developed on the base of AUTOCAD. The functions of the system include the auto calculation of the forging parameters and auto trimming of the blade body's surface curves. There are some functions to be finished.By the use of SUPERFORGE, the fluid of the material can be seen very clearly. In the end, the stress and strain on the surface of blade are studied and a set of rules for producing blade are introduced.
