The material for CDQ Plant built work under circumstance of multifarious change of temperature, load at high temperature and wear and erosion wear caused by coke grain falling and gas rising. In all destructive reason, thermal erode, mechanical erode and wear is the main destructive reason. For material, matrix destructs at first. The optimization of matrix of mullite material for CDQ is studied in the paper. It's divided into three parts, which are analysis of mullite material used now, the basic research on composition of matrix, and the optimization of composition of matrix.First, the basic composition of matrix is studied, it's found that the material has good prosperities when mullite, clay and corundum are mixed and added into it. It's also found that appropriate ration of A12O3 to SiC2 in clay and corundum is about 2.55. The good sinter temperature is 1550.Second, the different addition of molochite to material is studied. It's found the appropriate composition of molochite can accelerate growth of needle shape mullite,and improve thermal shock resistance.Third, the different addition of boemite to material is studied. It's found that mixed addition of boemite and corundum has better influence on performance of material than adding boemite or corundum independently, and especially improve resistance in erode.At last, the different addition of AlFa to material is studied. It's found that appropriate composition of AlFs accelerate growth of rodelike shape mullite, improve thermal shock resistance of material. The growth mechanism of rodelike mullite is V-S-L.
