There is much Cr + in the slag containing chromium .Cr6+ has great toxicity which badly pollute environment. It is one of 129 contaminations which are publicized by EPA of U.S.A.In this paper it was studied that the purification of slag containing chromium by microwave radiation. And the mechanism of detoxication was discussed.Through experiments, the influence on operating, circs and conditions to slag purification. The operation conditions was explored such as the affection of microwave power, radiation time, compounding ratio, the quantity of coal and slag containing chromium on the translation rate of Cr6+.The optimal operating condition has been gotten. Moreover, the paper researched on the stability of the detoxicated slag by X-diffraction and the determination of extraction procedure toxicity. The result maked know that Cr6+ in detoxcated slag was basically eliminated. Chromium's valence state was mostly trivalent chrome, and the hexavalence chrome content of lixiviated succus was all under 0.2mg/L , according to national emission standard 1.5mg/L (GB5085.3-1996) . The conclusion showed that purifying slag containing chromium by microwave radiation, we can translate the slag from poisonous hexavalence chrome into nontoxic trivalent chrome. The translation ratio obtained 99%.
