Because of its excellent properties, such as high strength, high module, wear resisting, etc, SiC was added to ferroalloy as a reinforce phase. But the intrinsic difference between the bonds led to poor fabrication of the composites. In this paper, alloy addition was used to improve the properties of composites, and the mechanism of sintering was discussed. Then, the influences of the parameter of sintering on composites were also studied:Firstly, the ingredient of alloy element added into Fe-Cu-C was optimized with orthogonal experiments. As the results showed, when 2wt%Ni, 1.5wt%Cr, 0.5wt%Mo or 2wt%Ni, 1.5wt%Cr, 0.5wt%Mo and 0.1wt%Ce were added in Fe-Cu-C, the ferroalloy obtained had preferably good properties, which was made under the condition of sintering at 1150 ℃ for one hour and exposed to a atmosphere of pure hydrogen at the same time. It could be used as the base of thecomposites, signed as 1# and 2#.Secondly, SiC and (SiC)Ni were added into 1# and 2# to study its composite. After comparing the properties of the different composites with each other, base 1# was confirmed as final ferrite alloy base.Thirdly, in this paper , sintering temperature and heat preservation time were discussed. As the results showed, when SiC/1# was made under the condition of sintering at 1120 ℃ for 30 minutes, it had excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance. (SiC)Ni/1# needed further study.
