The modern Computer Numerical Control (CNC) technology is the foundation of the modern manufactory technology. CNC machine is an essential material means to improve the product quality and the productivity. The remaking of machine for CNC is an efficient means to revivificate the machine. It's cost is low, it's period is short, it can guarrante the old technology index to be achieved or even exceeded. The means promotes the progress of the manufactory industry, which is adapted to the circumstance of our country. In present, the appliance of CNC technology on the camshaft grinding machine is blank in our country. Therefore, it is very important to study an remake the old camshaft grinding machine by using Siemens 840C CNC system.This paper introduce the development of CNC system and it's basic theory. Based on this theory, through the analysing about the components of the old machine, presents the remaking schemes and the reconfiguration schemes of the CNC system.According to the Feature of Siemens 840C and the need of servo system on the old machine, the detail design and adjustment of the electric system have been completed. Through theory analysing of the servo system, the main parameters of the machine have been confirmed and optimized also.According to the special grinding of camshaft which is described in discrete curve points, this paper makes the camshaft manufactory program, under the guidance of spling interpolate technology and by using the IKA function of 840C. Through an manufactory example, the re-maked machine shows it's high reliability and friendly interface.
