At present,urea formaldehyde(UF)resin adhesives are the most widely used adhesives in wood products industry. Recent years,with the enhancement of people's awareness in environmental protection,free formaldehyde which UF resins and its products emiss in production and use are highly considered by environmentalists and consumers. Consequently,low toxic UF resin adhesives are pressingly required in production and use.The thesis considered the production practice,mainly discuss the effects of modifier with different additive phase and additive quantity on synthesis technique and properties of resin through study on the modification of UF resin adhesive . To develop a desirable UF resin adhesive with low cost and low toxicity through experiment.Synthesis technique and formula of modified UF resin adhesive is optimized by experiments. The experimental results show that modifier is added on medium-term and its quantity is three percent,a favourable low toxic modified UF resin adhesive can be synthesized. When midifier is added in the process of synthesis,storage stability of UF resin is excellent,viscosity and PH change slightly.By MDF manufacturing experiments on a laboratory scale with low toxic modified UF resin adhesive,formaldehyde emission is 4.19mg/100g tested by perforator method reaching ? grade of German norm.
