The thermosetting acrylate latex with the core/shell structure, the core of which has reactive micro-gel, was prepared. We studied the properties of the above-mentioned latex, which used as corrosion resistant acrylate coating of hydrophilic aluminium foil. The influence of the degreasing temperature and degreasing time on the degreasing effect have been discussed by the aluminium foil's alkali corrosion resistance and salt water corrosion resistance. It indicated that the degreaser we made ourselves can clean the aluminium foil efficiently. The factors, such as the level of carboxyl in the system, the selection of organic amine, the degree of neatralization,the solid content, which have effects on the viscosity of the latex and the properties of the coating were discussed. The proper solidifying agent and its percentage were decided. We analyzed the influence of the solidifying factors on corrosion resistance and hydrophilicity of the hydrophilic film. The effects on the stability of emulsion system had been discussed through selecting proper emulsifier, the ratio of emulsifier, the levels of cross linker in the core, the different synthesis processes. At the same time, we studied the effects of aging on the performance of latex.
