Based on the industrial process of vinyl acetate via the vaporous acetylene method and the development of its catalysts, and also the correlative patent, this work studied the preparation of a new type catalyst ,which used Y -Al2O3 to be the carrier, and the reaction kinetics has been investigated. And the mathematical simulation of the industrial fixed-bed reactor were made .The catalyst was produced by impregnation. By changing the conditions, the factors affecting the supporting amount of zinc acetate on the carrier were correlated. And an experiential equation was obtained as below:It offered the operational parameters .The fresh catalysts were evaluated and the kinetics was studied by using the fixed-bed tubal reactor. The kinetics equation is:According to the kinetics equation, we use the quasi-homogenous one-dimensional model to simulate the industrial fixed-bed reactor. The simulant results showed that the new type catalyst has better activity than Zn(Ac)2-active carbon catalyst.
