Water-Soluble Paper is a special type of paper. It can be dissolved completely or partially in water and has the same other physical and chemical properties as common paper, so do the writing and the print functions. However its actual research value lies in the water-solubility. The main component of Water-Soluble Paper is sodium or ammonium of carboxymethyl cellulose, carboxymethyl cellulose for abbreviation (CMC) , which is a kind of white or yellowish solid-powder substance through chemical reaction between cellulose and 1-chlorine vinyl acid, and has strong water-absorbability. Water-Soluble Paper is alkalescent, white, insipidity and can swell in the neutral or alkaline solution. Furthermore, it can disperse in water under slight stir, but not be dissolved in the organic solvent, such as alcohol, ether, chloroform and so on . Just its fast dissolution in water make it used widely, so we can find it in pharmacy, package, daily chemistry, secrecy department, metal welder industry and high-pressure electrical porcelain industry. In this paper: firstly, the pulp that is used to produce CMC is made with linter as raw material. During the process of pulp's production, the experiment of the acid degradation of cotton pulp is done, which is preparing for the study on the influnence of DP to the water-solubility of the paper. Then with pulp as raw material, CMC is produced to make Water-Soluble Paper. In addition, the best product conditions are explored. Finally, through the research of many influence factors in the production of Water-Soluble Paper, the optimum technical conditions are found out.Based on the upper common Water-Soluble Paper, a kind of aging-resistant Water-Soluble Paper is got, which is treated with organic acid of ethanol-water solution . Then it is dried at 80C, which overcomes the yellowing of common one in the case of heat and long time storage.
