In this paper, the concentration of Rare Earth Elements (REEs) was measured in atmosphere of different sampling spot in Beijing. The objective of this study was to understand the distribution, enrichment and influences of REEs in different size particles, dust and snow. At the meantime, by comparison experiments of use agriculture application REEs in soil and potted rice experiment, we studied the effects of REEs on the emissions of nitrous oxide and methane from soil. The samples of dust, different size particles and corresponding soil were collected in urban as well as suburb town, in typical chemical plant and rural in Beijing, and then determined the concentrations of REEs. Our results indicate that1) the concentration of REEs in urban was larger than that in suburbia; the concentrations in dust of Yanshan Petrochemical Plant were the highest among all the sampling spots.2) The distribution of REEs in ambient air was identical with patter of REEs in soil..3) The enrichment factor (EF) of REEs against earth crust was from 3 to 10, and the value in fine particles was higher than that in coarse particles in ambient air, thus it shows that REEs in atmosphere is disturbed by the activity of human, especially in fine particles. The EF value of REEs against the groud was from 1 to 3, and it manifests that the mainly source of REEs in atmosphere is still the dust from ground.By coping rice soil and dry land soil with different fertilization (urea and agriculture application REEs), The flux of nitrous oxide was determined. Results show that1) REEs played unobvious role on flux of nitrous oxide when only applying theagriculture application REEs.2) The flux of nitrous oxide when applying REEs mixed with urea was much greater than only applying urea, and the flux of nitrous oxide increased with the dosage of REEs. It is due to the damage of nitrogenous fertilizer and disadvantage to crop absorbing nitrogen. At the meantime, it is increase the greenhouse effect of globle.By planting rice in pots, the flux of methane emission from the rice paddies and rice plants.was determiated. Results show that:1) Agriculture application of REEs affected the emission of methane from rice pot, and the flux of nitrous oxide increased with the dosage of REEs. This effect was more significant in tillering stage.than that in flowering stage.2) The influence of REEs on the rice plant was not clear. There may be reason that REEs affect the active of microbe in soil, and increase the emission of methane from soil.
