JISCO(.Iiuquan Iron and Steel Company) had developed a new acid pellet sintering process, but there are still some problems to be dissolved, such as poor gas permeability and higher rate of fine material in product. These were studied through the experiments of gas permeaability of different processes, the changes of temperature and difference of pressure in different processes,mineralogy and viscocity of coherative phase with different additives, such as dolomite, titanium and vanadium oxides in sintering process. It was found that the original gas permeability of new acid pellet sintering process is prior to general sintering process ,but it becomes poorer in the sintering process because of the material fusion; The main cohesive phase is silicate with high viscosity, the viscosity of cohesive phase can be reduced and the metallurgical properties improved with the addition of TiO2 Cap2 and MgO in sinter. Based on these results, the measures are made and implemented in practical process. Satisfactory results were reached in JISCO sintering plant .
