The West-east Pipeline Project is an important project for China. The corrosion of natural gas in H2S circumstance is one of key problems for the safety of natural gas transportation. On the basis of much latest research on hydrogen induced cracking (HIC) and stress corrosion cracking (SCC). X70 pipeline in the West-east Pipeline Project is adopted in this paper. The behaviors and affecting factors of HIC in X70 pipeline steel, the relations between SCC and microstmcture & deforming in H2S solution are studied; High strength pipeline, which came from different factories and countries, having different microstructure and pre-deforming are studied in detail. Based on the research of cracking of high strength pipeline in H2S solution, the cracking forming, the dynamic parameters of cracking expending and the characteristic of cracking burgeon in H2S solution are studied through strength loading. The proposals on improving the abilities of resistance to HIC&SCC are provided.
