The main work of this project is the numerical simulation of the process of quenching. The emphasis lies on the study of cooling characteristic of quenching media. Two lands of equipments that developed by ourselves are used in the experiments to collect the data. The data processing software basing on windows 98 has been designed on microcomputer, which is the most important component of the system of measurement of the characteristic of quenching media. The surface temperature, the passing thermal quantity and the heat exchanging parameter to assess the cooling capacity of quenching media which have been analyzed and treated by the system have been tested to be more scientific and reliant. The transformation diagrams of super-cooled austenite are described by polynomial-like function and cubic spline function. The database of diagrams is set up on computer, which provides abundant preparations for the following work. The data processing software system is developed in the visible IDE-Visual Basic 6.0, possessing of the advantages of friendly interface and easy to operate.This paper, basing on the software system, analyzes the quenching process at point of diathermanous subject view; introduces the instrument of measurement and the experiment principle; concretely analyses the mathematic models and processing method of the data-processing system, which is the theoretic groundwork for programming; describes the makeup of the software and how to design and actualize it.
