In this thesis, a new kind of wear-resistant material-superhigh manganese steel (SHMS) is studied. It's obtained by increasing amount of Mm C and putting alloy element -Cr into common HMS. Meanwhile, the effect of SHMS' microstructure properties and work hardening mechanism are studied.The range of SHMS' chemical composition is defined based on the research of HMS'. To contrast Mn and Cr to them in function, the energy to fracture and hardness of ZGMnl8Cr2 are compared to those of ZGMnlS and ZGMnl3Cr2. The heat treatment temperature of SHMS is decided, the hardness before and after deformation is measured, the SHMS' hardness change feature are compared to HMS'.It is evident by experiment and the analysis of microstructure and SEM that the SHMS comprises more carbide; a new carbide and phase are formed after put Cr into it; it results from the fiinction of them that the original hardness of SHMS is higher than HMS', and the rate of work hardening is larger than HMS'.In the region with large-scale equipment and large water-quenched depth, HMS cannot meet some needs. SHMS studied in this paper can meet the needs. It has a high application value.
