Lame formulation has limitation in optimizing combined-containers, especially when pressure is only applied on local area of the containers. So based on plastic forming knowledge, large FEA software ANSYS is used to analysis stress distribution in containers and furthermore to optimize combined-containers in such two situations: whole internal pressure and local internal pressure. The reliability of ANSYS optimization is proofed by comparing results of ANSYS and Lame formulation when the containers are subjected to whole internal pressure. To get contact pressure distribution curve, MARC is used to do numerical simulation of cup extruding. Stress, stain, displacement and other simulation results are retrieved. Internal pressure on the inner wall of the container was discussed emphatically and its influence factors are discussed. At the end of the paper, research results are concluded, and the direction of further research is pointed out.
