Studies On The Modification Of Chitosan And Atom Transfer Radical Polymerization

This thesis includes the following three parts:Part I : A review on the research and development of Atom Transfer RadicalPolymerization (ATRP)The development of Living Polymerization and ATRP were reviewed in this part. Especially, the methods of living polymerization, mechanism and features of ATRP, composition of ATRP and its application in synthesizing and preparing functional polymers that are of special structures and can be characterized easily have been expatiated. Not only the main direction of ATRP development but also the difficulties and problems confronting the researches of ATRP have been put forth. Furthermore, the prospect of ATRP has been discussed in this part. Part II: Studies on ATRP initiated by methyl chloroacetate and ethyl trichloroacetateIn this part, two initiators, methyl chloroacetate and ethyl trichloroacetate, were firstly employed in ATRP.
