Ethanol is the main component of composing mild alcohols. Alkane is not only the important chemical materials, but also the important organic solvent. Alkane is suitable solvents to dehydrate from mild alcohols. So determining the vapor-liquid equilibrium data is the requirement for industrial production. But to now, complete data of vapor liquid equilibrium of alkane-alcohol-alcohol are lacking. The data are experimentally measured using a bubble equilibrium still. The bubble equilibrium still has its advantage in determining the data of vapor-liquid equilibrium: a little sample, short time to equilibrium. Also, it only determines the temperature, mole fraction x and y. The bubble equilibrium still has been successfully applied to VLE measurement for many systems. But in error analysis, there are few reports. So we did work as follows:We analyze the error of the bubble equilibrium still.Isothermal vapor-liquid equilibrium of ten alkane-alcohol-alcohol system at 30-80℃ were determined. The NTTL equation and UN1QUAC model are used to correlate the VLE data of the ten ternary system. The model parameters of the system are:The average deviation of mole fraction in compounds is 0.0112 by NRTL and0.0144 by UNIQUAC. The maximum average deviation of NRTL model is 0.0182, the maximum average deviation of UNIQUAC model is 0.0304. The average deviation and maximum deviation of NRTL equation is smaller than that of UNIQUAC model. So we think that the NRTL equation should be the first choice for correlating aklane-alcohol- alcohol system.
