The paper has prepared a new series of circular cooling water treatment agents .The major trait is that there have four different kinds of functional groups--methylene sulfonic acid, methylene phosphonic acid, carboxymethyl which render it to be scale and corrosion inhibitors and biocide at the same time. The method of synthesizing these agents has been explored in this article. We get the products through the following steps. We have get 7 products by this way which are:N-{2-hydroxyl-3-(N,N-dioctal-N-methyl-quternary ammonium)-propyl}-N,N''-dimethylene phosphonic acid -N'-methylene sulphonic acid-N''-carboxymethyl diethylenetriamine(88CS2P),N-{2-hydroxyl-3-(N,N-didecal-N-methyl-quternary ammonium)-propyl }-N,N''-dimethylene phosphonic acid-N'- methylene sulphonic acid-N''-carboxymethyldiethylenetriamine(1010CS2P),N-{2-hydroxyl-3-(N,N-didodecal-N-methyl-quternary ammonium)-propyl }-N,N''- dimethylene phosphonic acid-N'- methylene sulphonic acid-N''-carboxymethyl diethylenetriamine (1212CS2P)and so on。We have analysized and tested these agents through IR,31P-NMR,and the corresponding features have also been stated in this paper. The performance of these agents in the circular cooling water have been studied through static scale inhibitor experiments and the static biocide experiments. The experimental results show that these agents have poor effect on scale inhibiting CaCO3,Ca3(PO4)2,Zn2+.The probable reason is that the quternary ammonium makes the agents too big to inhibite the scale from growning. The biocide effect is neither ideal because the anion in water solution affects the function of quternary ammonium.
