The traditional gear precision analysis and design work is not only time-cost ,but also hard to acquire higher precision and quality .So we design a gear precision analysis and design intelligent system with the CAD method and AI technology. The initial considerations of gear precision analysis and design are given, according to the expert knowledge of the expert system . On the one hand ,various gear errors are inquired and it is made as feed back information . In order to improve gear processing precision ,on the other hand ,the gear and gear blank are designed,the precision grades of gear tolerance items can be obtained intelligently and the checking target of each tolerance items can be chosen automatically .geometrical tolerance,size tolerance and surface roughness tolerance are inquired and drawn . Meantime the working graph designed can be modified under AutoCAD . Finally the satisfactory precision design results and the working graph can be obtained automatically according to the requirement of the users.Using the toolkit such as Delphi3.0 and AutoCAD2000 ,the system is developed and implemented with the aid of ActiveX Automation and data base techniques . With a friendly interface and independence ,the system is easy to be operated . The system provides an efficient and reliable way for gear precision analysis and precision design ,using this software it can buildup capability of corporation product exploitation and design ,improve design quality and shorten product development ,be propitious to realize gear standard ,series and currency ,improve corporation economic benefit.
