Ring expansion reactions are important tools in organic synthesis which take advantage of existing ring structures and avoid the unfavorable factors associated with other approaches in the construction of medium and large rings. Radical reaction is an important tool in organic synthesis because of its moderate reaction condition, good regioselectivity and stereoselectivity. It has attracted many chemists research interest. Radical ring expansion is a new strategy to synthesize the medium-sized and even large rings, nowadays, it is one of the important research fields of organic chemistry.In this thesis, we want to describe the new one-carbon and three-carbon chain extension and ring expansion of 2-aroyl-3,4-dihydro-2H-naphalen-l-one, which is the first report based on our knowledge. In addition, we have also studied radical addition reaction.
