As the economy booms in China in recent years, there are considerable improvement in the manufacture model, scale, turnaround time and the technology aspects of textile products. The designer and manufacturers are becoming more and more consumer-oriented. At the same time, the life style and fashion trend have changed significantly. Quality and individuality have become fashion. As a result, I believe it is highly necessary to develop the MTM clothing design and production system.Human bodies come in different shapes and sizes. To quickly obtain the paper pattern for each body during the initial measurements of individual customers, it is essential to establish a MTM body size database.In this study, based on body data collected from 515 women (age between 18 and 25) in the Eastern, Southern, and Northern part of China, we conducted a variety of statistical analysis using SPSS software after pretreatment. We studied the size differences and the developing trend of body parts from women of different areas with different body shapes. Then we qualitatively and quantitatively describe the body characteristics of these young females. In the same time, by data integration, processing and analysis, we established a method to categorize body shapes that are amenable to MTM manipulation. We treat the upper body and the lower body separately in our categorization process and established sub-categories for both upper and lower bodies.Based on these analyses, we wrapped these rules, calculations and analysis to macros. With the second development of SPSS using VB, an application of the system about the database of human body is created. This application can automatically analysis and calculate the data of human body. In addition, with using the criterion of separating shapes and sizes, the application can decide what the shape and size should be according to the input and can get the result of the sizes of other body parts quickly. The user can also query information from the database using this application.
