Coke Tower is one of the important equipment for the delayed coking device. It has a long history of half a century since beginning to use the delayed coking device in the 1960s. Because Coke Tower is an important equipment of the delayed coking device, once occurring failure will result in the serious consequence such as personal casualty and tremendous economic losses. According to the present using condition, many of the Coke Towers are in the state of over -service .so in order to improve economic benefits and prevent accident occurring, it is of very vital for Coke Tower to be carried through safety estimation and lifespan analysis. This paper regards Coke Tower delayed coking workshop of JINXI PETRO AND CHEMICAL COMPANY as the research object and accomplished the following content:(1) Checked the age degree and mechanical properties of the Coke Tower and analyzed the metallographic organization and mechanical properties of the coking drum and weld line obtained by checking.(2) Accomplished a lot of field data-measuring of the Coke Tower's temperature and stress, carried through weld line crackle measuring by means of The Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technology and obtained indispensable data used in the strength-checking, safety estimation and life analysis.(3) Completed safety estimation of Coke Tower utilizing the actual measuring data.(4) Analyzed the residual life of thermo-mechanical fatigue of Coke TowerAll the job having been done provided reference data for the use and maintenance of the Coke Tower of delayed coking workshop of JINXTN PETRO AND CHEMICAL COMPANY.
