Glass - ceramics is one kind of materials developed recently in the material fields. It is a kind of poly - crystal solid material that is made by crystallization of glass by means of heat treatment . As one kind of functional and structural material s , it is widely used in light , electric , maganic , biological and chemical fields. As construct ion al and decoration al material, it is graceful and beautiful which is the goodness of ceramic and stone. This paper mainly investigate s the process schedule of using gangue tailing to make glass - ceramics and discusses the relations among the constitutio n , structure and performance. It s major procession is the basic glass design ing , glass melting and converting glass into glass - ceramics. The basic glass batches are designed mainly by the chemical constitution of the gangue then different point s were select ed in CaO - Al 2O3- SiO 2 phase diagram. The experiences have proved the batch SiO 2 52.92Wt% Al 2O313.24 Wt% CaO 21.314 Wt% Na 2O 7.275 Wt% K 2O1.99 Wt% others 0.57 Wt% is better. According to the batch each original ingredient is blended and then melted at 1450 ℃ in the oven for two hours, Finally the liquid is poured into water to form glass which will be grinded , dried and pressed. Utilizing the orthodox methods the best heat treatment schedule of the gangue glass - ceramics was decided. The affection of each heat tre atment factors on performance alteration and microstructure change is investigated by shrinkage gravitation and modern test technique XRD SEM . It confirms fatherly the best heat treatment schedule: nucleation tempetature 8 20 ℃, nucleation time 3 hours , crystalli zation temperature 9 0 0 ℃, crystallization time 2hours. Compared with ceramics stone, the gangue glass - ceramic properties are superior to them. This paper has proved probability of glass - ceramics utilizing YONG AN g angue to get glass ceramics. It has great insi gnificance in recycling gangue or solid waste and protected the environment and had great social and economical beneficence.
