The technology of directional solidification has already widely used in national defence and the research of science. However, in order to realize the directional solidification, we should control the heat and mass transfer during solidification perfectly. In the research of the principles of solidification, people have already made satisfactory effort on the state of liquid and solid, however, the research of the interface of solid-liquid is short of discussion. In this article, we will make much effort on the mass transfer in the interface of S-L during directional solidification.According to the model of mass transfer in the interface of S-L during directional solidification, people could not get satisfactory results in the past, because they could not get out of the limits of technology and experimental measures. In the second chapter of this article, author makes use of the continuous of chemical gradient in the interface of S-L, and the relation of the chemical gradient and solidification time, and the achievement of the today's solidification, then the model of the mass transfer in the interface of S-L during directional solidification has been got. Next, the experiment to measure the concentration of solute in the interface of S-L during directional solidification has been carried out. The computerized data is perfectly fit to the experimental data. Through making use of the models of the heat and mass transfer, a serious of parameters of mass transfer during solidification, such as Gc Vc Gs Vs have been got.
