Citrus medica swingle is a kind of rare herb in china, at the same time, it is one of main materials for abstracting aromatic components. More and more attention been paid to the Chinese traditional iatrology, so more and more peoples focuses on the bergamot as a kind of rare Chinese herb.The paper report the study of the aromatic contents in bergamot fruits and leaves by means of GC/MS technique, the results is which the main components varieties in bergamot volatile oil are alkenes, aldehydes and alcohols, the relative content of these components are alkenes 54.58%, aldehydes 18.55%, alcohol 16.75%, esters3.08% and acids 0.22%,others components are 6.82%. The main aromatic components are D-Limonene28.19%,2,6- Octadienal,3,7-dimethyl-10.13%.,3-Carene9.31%,1,4-Cyclohexadiene, 1-methyl-4-9.51%,(Z) 2,6-Octadienal, 3,7-dimethyl-7.88%,2,6-Octadien -1-ol,3,7-dimethy 13.94%, (E)2,6- Octadien -1-ol,3,7-dimethyl- 3.35%, 4-Hexen-1-ol,5-methyl-2-(1-met) 3.41 %,Terpineol,Z-.beta.2.15%,.alpha.-Pinene 1.91 %,beta.-Pinene2.31 %, Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate2.07%.The main components varieties in bergamot leaves volatile oil are alkenes, aldehy -des and alcohols, the relative content of these components are alkenes 35.89%, aldeh-ydes 44.38%, alcohol 13.26%, ketones 0.64%, esters2.06% and acids 0.93%, others components are 2.84%. The main aromatic components are D-Limonene 28.49%, 3-Carene 0.07%, 2,6- Octadienal, 3,7-dimethyl-25.08%, 1,4-Cyclohexadiene, 1-methyl-4-0.30%,(Z) 2,6-Oct-adienal, 3,7-dimethyl-15.13%,2,6- Octadien -1-ol, 3,7-dimethyl 1.04%, (E)2,6- Octadi -en-1-ol,3,7-dimethyl-2.02%,4-Hexen-1-ol,5-methyl-2-(1-met)5.04%, alpha. -Pinene0.44%, beta.-Pinenel.54%,1,6- Octadien -3-ol, 3,7-dimethyl 0.14%, Bis(2-ethylhe -xyl) phthalate 0.11%.The main components varieties in bergamot dried leaves volatile oil are alkenes, aldehydes and alcohols, the relative content of these components are alkenes 43.48%, aldehydes 29.99%, alcohol 21.48%, estersO.30% and acids 0.58%,others components are 4.17%.The main aromatic components are D-Limonene32.81%, 2,6- Octadienal, 3,7 -dimethyl-15.44%, (Z) 2,6-Oct-adienal, 3,7-dimethyl-12.92%,2,6- Octadien -1-ol, 3,7-dim -ethyl 0.64%, (E)2,6- Octadien -1-ol,3,7-dimethyl-4.24%,4-Hexen-1-ol,5-methyl-2-(1-met) 7.02%, alpha.-Pinene0.27%,beta.-Pinene 1.02%, 1,6- Octadien -3-ol, 3,7-dimethyl 5.10%, Bis(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate 1.33%.The main components in the volatile oil in bergamot leaves are same the main components in the volatile oil of bergamot fruits ,there are 27 kinds components been found in the volatile of bergamot fruit and leaves, the components' relative quantity is 92.14% in leaves is higher than the relative quantity in bergamot fruits, it is about 83.12% in volatileoil of fruits, the dried leaves keep the main aromatic components which can be find in fresh leaves, there are about 23 kinds components in fresh leaves be kept in dried leaves, but the quantity is decreased.The bergamot tea is better than the green tea that is the material of the bergamot tea, the bergamot tea's fragrance and flavor have been improved greatly.
