With the increasing exploitation of mineral resource, the conciouness of protecting the environment in which people live have become more and more strong. When exploiting mineral resource, we can treat the target mineral with oxidation by special process, which is a new way to extract valuable metal and has attracted more and more attention.These years witness a new flotation technology--bioflotation. In a broader sense,bioflotation is nothing but a flotation process in which micobal and their metabolized product play a important role. Bioflotation can be divided into two categorties: one is flotation in which micobal is treated as flotation agent directly, the other maily focuced on how to use micobal as flocculation to separate superfine mineral. Sometime, we only prefer to using micobal as flotation tregeat directly.Conventional surfactant has been applied as tregeat in flotation for many years. Today, people have play more and more attention on environment protection, and chemery surfactant cause pollution on environmen, so now we need a new tregeant to substitute chemery surfactant The new tregeat we have created will never do harm to environmentBeing fermented, Pseudomonas aeruginosa will produce a kind of biosurfactant which can reduce the surface tension of liquid dramatically. The surface tension of culture medium is about 70mNm4. But after ferment, the surface tension is only 25 mNm-1. The biosurfactant is identified as rhamnolipid.When rhamnolipid, together with MQ is served directly to flotate quartz, the rate of retrieve has increased 18 percent than that of quartz when we only use MG to flotate quartz. The flotation research of mixture of quartz and ironstone also indicate that rhamnolipid can effectively improve separation efficiency.Panenibacillus polymyxa and Pseudomonas aeruginosa can enhance the rate of retrieve of quartz dramatically. The two micobal will achieve more exciting result if they are domesticated by quartz. The paper also make a elementary discuss about mechanism through which we can know how and why the things we have discussed above happen.In all, the micobal technology change conventional concept and category of flotation, so it is undoubtly a revolutionary technology and will of course revolutionarily change in flotation in the 21 century.
