In practice, wearing makes a large amount of lost in industry production as one of the main form of expiration. Therefore, how to improve the wear-resistance and increase the service life of the components is very meaningful, and it also decreases the cost and improve the production efficiency. It has become a keystone to fabricate the anti-wear coatings on the surface of the work pieces in present. The titanium diboride TiB2 is very attractive for its high hardness, high wear-resistance, high erosion-resistance, anti-oxidizes, and it can bear the heat etc. Many methods, for example the Chemical Vapor Deposition, Physical Vapor Deposition, thermal spraying technology etc, are used to make the coatings with high good properties, but it is very difficult to achieve for the high melting point and brittleness of the TiB2 and the above researches exist many shortages.This dissertation designs the cored wires which are suitable for thermal spraying around the TiB2 ceramic material. The cored wires use low-carbon steel holding the TiB2 and Al2O3 ceramic. The coating is made by arc spraying which can combine the ceramic materials' excellent performance with the metal materials' toughness, good machining ability, electric etc. and it can achieve the excellent anti-wear coatings with low cost and outstanding performance. To improve the performance of the coatings, the Al, Cr, and Ni elements are appended to the cored wires separately.The coatings' bonding strength,hardness,anti-thermal shochking, abrasive wear resistance are tested.The coatings'abrasion mechanism and the effect mechanism of the appended elements are studied by the means of X-ray diffraction(XRD), scanning electron microscopy(SEM),and energy dispersive spectrometry(EDS) etc.The research indicates that the designed cored wires have excellent technical performance for thermal spraying, coating's performance is excellent and TiB2 plays a very importent part in coatings. Appended elements effect coating's microstructure and improve the coating's performanc especially its anti-abrasive wear. The coatings which made by the researched cored wires have excellent performance, they have great value of practice and they are promising.
