With the social economy developing and people's standard of living advancing , more and more special aquatic products are demanded. Most special aquatic products are breeded by industrial aquaculture. A mass of nitrogen and phosphorus in egestas and remnant feedstuffs could make the admitting water body entrophicate. At the same time, aquaculture is a low profit industry, it can't endure high treatment cost It is imperious for us to find a wastewater purification technology which has high efficiency and low cost. The high terrestrial plants cultivated with recycling water system is a kind of phytoremediation system with a low cost , simple construction and high purification efficiency. The plants were planted on the seedling trays, it was developed from the nutrient flow technology in which there was only a layer of nutrient liquid flowing through the plant roots, therefore oxygen was enough which benefited the root growing and their respiration were healthy, so the plants could grow naturally. In the experiments, turtle-breeding wastewater was purified by ryegrass and Festuca arundinacea schreb cultivated with recycling water system. It showed that the high terrestrial plants grew naturally in the wastewater, the height, fresh weight and dry weight etc.of the plants were increased obviously. The system had a great ability to remove NH4+-N, TN, CODcr, SS etc. from the eutrophicated water body and had a significant effect on improving water quality. Comparing the parameters of their purification efficiency and purification velocity, a conclusion could be drawn that the Festuca arundinacea schreb had the better adaptability to the turtle-breeding wastewater and its purification effect was satisfactory. It was a good species that could be used tophytoremediate the breeding wastewater. The parameters of the purification efficiency and velocity of ryegrass and Festuca arundinacea schreb in turtle-breeding wastewater with different concentrations had been obtained, so they could give us references in experiment enlargements and engineering applications. A new technology to purify breeding wastewater with high terrestrial plants has been found.
