In this paper, the research that the hypoxia and hypocalcia rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) are prepared by fused-salt extraction method is mainly developed. Firstly, crude rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) are prepared by reduction reaction with Calcium reducing agent. Secondly, under condition of argon gas, the hypoxia and hypocalcia rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) are prepared by fused-salt extraction method with ReFa (Re=Dysprosium, Yttrium)as extracted agent in the vacuum induction furnace. Finally, Oxygen and Calcium content in rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) are measured. Oxygen content in rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) is measured with P-E3030 NOx meter. Calcium content in rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) is measured with EMGA-2200 atomic absorption optical spectroscopy. The results show that Oxygen content and Calcium content in rare-earth metals (Dysprosium, Yttrium) are greatly reduced by ReF3 as extracted agent of Oxygen content and Calcium content. Oxygen content and Calcium content in Dysprosium is 0.29wt% and 0.055wt% respectively before the experiment. After crude Dysprosium metals is extracted by fused-salt extracted method (when DyF3 as extraction agent is 80wt% of crude Dysprosium), Oxygen content and Calcium content in Dysprosium metals is 0.034wt% and 0.01wt% respectively. Oxygen content and Calcium content in Yttrium is 0.31wt% and 0.85wt% respectively before the experiment. After crude Yttrium metal is extracted by fused-salt extracted method (when YFs as extraction agent is 150wt% of crude Dysprosium). Oxygen content and Calcium content in Yttrium is 0.11wt% and 0.014wt% respectively. The experimental results show that Oxygen content in Dysprosium metal is outstanding extracted by this method, elimination rate of Oxygen content attains 88.3wt%. Because Yttrium and Oxygen have the stronger affinity than that of Dysprosium and Oxygen, the results of Oxygen content extracted in the yttrium are not so good as in the Dysprosium, reduction level can still reach 64.5wt%.In this paper, basic principle ana thermodynamic process of rare-earth metals purified by iused-salt method is firstly demonstrated. The experimental results are analyzed and discussed.Necessarily theoretical gist is provided for more perfect this research of purified technology. The fused-salt extraction method is compared with other method. The result shows that this method has some characters of simple equipment, short production cycle, high efficiency, great production capacity, low-Oxygen content and easy realization industrialization. It is important that this research can improve product quality, enlarge product quantity of rare-earth metal, and transform rare-earth resource predominance into economic predominance in our municipality.
