The dissertation mainly studied the flameretardancy on silk fabric treated with ammonium hexafluorozirconate((NH4)2ZrF6) and phosphorus-based flameretardants such as N-hydroxymethyl (3-dimethoxyl phosphono) propionamide (CP).The flame resistant property was identified by limited oxygen index(LOI),vertical fammability test and char residue yield etc.. Technique factors was also discussed in concentration of flame retardant , time, temperature, pH value of finishing bath, additive etc., so as to optimize a finish art.By char residue yield, infrared spectroscopy(IR) , scanning electron micrograph photographs(SEM), wide-angle X-ray diffraction patterns(WAXD), thermogravimetric analysis(TGA), differential scanning colorimetry(DSC)and amino acid analysis of untreated silk fabric and flame retarded silk fabric, the mechanism of flame resistance was analyzed , which indicated that both the two flame retardants are the condensed-phase flame resistance mechanism. The former has more content of char residue by the end of combustion. The latter also has much more char residue than untreated silk fabric by dehydration and char formation during pyrolysis. The whiteness, yellow-causing index, strength, dyeing property of the treated fabric are tested to indicate the physical and mechanical properties. As a result, organophorous-based CP was an effective flameretardant, but it can make silk fabric become yellow to some extent, which need further study. The metal complex compound (NH4)2ZrF6 is poorer than organophorous-based CP in the effect of flame resistance.
