Organic Electroluminescent Devices(OELDs) is a novel technology for flat panel display utilizing organic molecules or polymers as emitters. Since 1987 C. W. Tang reported the first electroluminescent device based on two-layer organic material, OELDhave attracted more and more research interest. And due to their convenient manufacturing, intriguing physical propertyes, such as high luminance, wide view, quick response, multiple corlor display, as well as potential applications in flat panel displays, the research work on OELD has been largely developed and improved.Main work is shown as follows:1. In this paper, the history and development of OELD are reviewed briefly. Under analysis advantage and disadvantage of all kinds of them, we aud new design a series of novel materials, which contain properties of emitting, electron transporting and hole transporting.2. Through the investigation of literatures, we design four sorts of compounds: 5-Allyl-2-pyridin-2-yl-pyrimidine-4,6-diol,5-Allyl-4,6-dichloro-2-pyridin-2-yl-pyrimidine,5-Allyl-4,6-dimethoxy-2-pyridin-2-yl-pyrimidine,5-Allyl-2-pyridin -2-yl-pyrimidine as ligands that was unreported. We tried to synthesize of them and obtained three of them.3. Choosing 5-Allyl-2-pyridin-2-yl-pyrimidine- 4,6-diol as ligand and Al3+, Co2+,Zn2+ as central metal ions, we attempt to prepare organic metal complexes, two of them successfully got.4. All the compounds afomentioned were typed with UV, IR, NMR, and elementary analysis.
