Environment protection is more and more important with the acceleration of industrialization. Many industrial enterprises must come up to the standard of safely letting off the exhaust gas involved dust particles so that the exploitation of novel and high efficiency dust catcher becomes signification. This paper studies on the characteristic of co-current flow dust removal by using the new type mass-transfer and separation equipment—the rotating packed bed(RPB). Control the parameters to put up the experiments. This paper discusses the key factor of the dust elimination. They are rotating speed and operation liquid flow rate. At the same time the author studies on the total pressure drop of the machine, comparison between the co-current operation and counter-current operation and grade efficiency. Through the experiment results we get the first-hand materials about the dust removal in the RPB. When the machine works with high speed, the total machine pressure drop of co-current operation is much lower than counter-current operation under the same condition. As the gas flow is 80m3/h and the rotating speed is 1500rpm, the dispersion can be 1130pa. The effect of the two operations of the machine increases as the operation fluid increases and counter-current operation performs better than co-current when the water flow is low and the ability of eliminating the dust of the two operations boosts up when the rotating speed increases. According to the previous experiences the RPB machine's best operating condition is above 1250rpm. While the operating liquid flow is higher than 0.4m3/h and the rotating speed is above 1050rpm, the concentrations of the gas outlet are all below 150mg/m3 and the gas/liquid ratio is 250:1. This result can come up to the national standard of scavenging the common industrial gas. Under the certain condition, the grade efficiency of 0.3can reach 99.98% and the total efficiency is 99.99%. The concentration of dust of the gas inlet and outlet changing at certain range has no effect on the results. And the particles above 2 can be removed absolutely.The author discusses the characteristics of co-current particle elimination in RPB with the results of the experiments, the previous experiments and theoretical research work. And also the author brings forward some new ideas to explain the experimental phenomena. The performance of using RPB to eliminate the particles is satisfied. As a kind of new and high efficiency dust catcher, the application of the RPB has good foreground.
