Wide and thick rubber sheet has a wider market foreground. It is widely used in many production and living fields such as rubber flooring, top rubber of conveyer belt, and so on. But there isn't proper production equipment to produce wide thick rubber sheet in rubber production industry. It is significant to study its basic theory because Screw Die has advantaged superiority in producing wide and thick rubber sheet. My research object is the domestic urgent production equipment that is used in wide and thick rubber sheet extrusion. By way of adopting the Screw Die technology that originally used in extruding plastic sheet for use in extruding rubber sheet, the technical renovation could be realized from colander method to extrusion method in rubber sheet production. In this article, the mathematical, physical and finite element models, which suit for rubber extrusion main performance index, were brought forward and built. According to common rubber material, the fluid field was calculated and the flow process of material in Screw Die flow channel was simulated, and the pressure and velocity distribution of fluid field were obtained by using the three-dimensional finite element software—ANSYS. It was also studied that the flow mechanism of rubber in Screw Die flow channel during the period of extrusion. The influence of variable parameters, such as, die geometry, material capability and operating condition parameters, on pressure profile, velocity profile and uniformity of material in outlet of die were also analyzed and discussed. This study offered a new method to die design. By the use of the CAE technology, more feasible die geometry could be got with the help of ANSYS finite element software and then be validated and analyzed by experimentation. So some unnecessary cost could be saved and the design and manufacture period of die could be shortened.
