This research is aimed at retrieving algae in Dianchi Lake by using the lighting-weight material. It is a. part of Kunming technology program (2002-34). The main content includes proofing the availability of algae removal of lighting-weight material, analyzing the efficiency of algae removal of the metal ion combination that dissolved from the lighting-weight material, selecting the metal ion combination that has the highest efficiency of algae removal, comparing the purifying efficiency of the lighting- weight material and the metal ion combination, studying the kinetics of the lighting-weight material, etc.Based on the previous research results, a lot of experiments and data processing- theory analysis were carried. The results tested the previous study: the lighting- weight material could remove the algae in Dianchi Lake quickly and effectively. And when the inhibiting effect of components which dissolved from the lighting- weight material was studied, we found a metal ion combination that could remove algae quickly and effectively. In which, the highest efficiency of Chla removal of the lighting- weight material is 98.71%,the removal efficiency of TN, TP,CODMn of the lighting-weight material also keeps more than 40%, the efficiency of TN, TP, CODMn removal of the metal ion combination can reach above 60%, but the efficiency of Chla removal of it only above 80%. In all the process, both of them did no harm to the aquatic livings and could restraint the growth of algae in the long term.The results of this study indicated that the lighting- weight material can synthetically utilize many inhibiting factors to remove the algae. Because it can remove the algae effectively, quick, harmlessly and easy to recover, it is a good new algaecide that has more value of research and application.
