The process of air flotation is often used in the treatment of water and waster water as an effective method to separate the solid form the water. In order to make full use of the removal capability of it, it is usual to cast coagulant into water to make the pollutant unstable and coagulated so as to make the water purified. Most of studies of coagulation were carried out based on the sedimentation at present. Some people think that the demand of the condition of coagulation and the size of floe is less than that of the sedimentation, but to what degree it is depend on the characteristic of water quality. A systemic research was performed on this problem in this paper, in which emulsion wastewater discharged from steel rolling was used as original water and PAFC was adopted as coagulant. Various kinds of best parameters of air flotation is found, including: coagulant kind, dosage, pH, deal with time of, mixing intensity, atmospheric pressure and backset current than.Air flotation and sedimentation were contrasted at the course of the experiment, the experimental results show that the removal rate of the turbidity, COD and oil that by air flotation is high as 99.5%, 99.3% and 99.9% respectively and higher than of sedimentation; to the affected the coagulation such as the time of mixture and coagulant quantity and so on, the demand of air flotation is less than of sedimentation; the adaptability of the air flotation to the impact of the water quality and quality is strong than that of the sedimentation at the same coagulant quantity. The credible data is afforded hi this paper to the design of the waster treatment engineering.Electro-coagulation deals with emulsion wastewater go on the discussion also in testing, the result of the test indicates that electro-coagulation is a kind of very potential treatment method in dealing with emulsion wastewater. The experiment results show that when turbidity of the wastewater is 4000NTU; CODcr is 16000mg/L; oil is 8000mg/L, after electro-coagulation can be reduced to 15NTU, 79mg/Land 9mg/L.
