The enclosed vertical-automatic welding technology is a high efficiency welding method. In this paper, thermo-sensor is introduced to the vertical-automatic welding system and the new enclosed vertical-automatic welding system with a tractor is developed. This system consists of the mechanical part, welding power source and electric control system. And in the mechanical part, welding head and hoisting machine are emphasized.In the study, an idea of complex control is presented for controlling the FSP (fluid surface position of metal pool). The detection signals of complex control consist of the thermo-sensor signal and arc voltage or current signal, and the thermo-sensor detection is used as a main signal. Integrating of all the factors of influencing the FSP, the signal detection system and weld speed auto-adjusting system to control the weld speed are developed.In this thesis also provides a new type of weld parameter show system, such as welding speed, current and voltage. In the system, the switching circuit structure is used in pre-selection and practical detection. The experiments show that the complex control method with thermo-sensor and arc voltage or current signal detection can be satisfied the request of auto-control the process of vertical welding. The new enclosed vertical-automatic welding system has good reliability and practicality. This research work will promote the application and development of the high efficient vertical welding.
