Spiral Up-Flow Reactor (SUFR) is a kind of new waste-water treatment technique with upright-reactor and mechanical diversion system. It's an optimum design of biologic treatment cell. During the operating of SUFR, high efficiency of Phosphorus removal and denitrogenation can be reached and it can work stably. The fluid state and the oxygen-transfer capability of SUFR are researched experimentally in this study.The result of single-factor test in the fluid-state analysis shows: complex plug flow pattern may be formed in SUFR, the low rotate speed (n) and d/D are in favor of the form of complex plug flow pattern. Aerstion and non-aerstion are conducted respectively in the rhombic regress test of fluid state, the result shows: the ration of depth to diameter(h/D),d/D and n are main factors under aerstion condition, non-aerstion.The mathematic relation between tandem progression (N) and the main factors (h/D, d/D and n) are founded in the rhombic regress test of fluid state. According to the relation, the augment of h/D and reduction of d/D and n are in favor of the increase of N, namely they favor the formation of complex plug flow pattern.Water depth, aeration degree and water quality have an impact on the oxygen transfer in the test, the result shows: The deeper of water is, the stronger of oxygen-transfer driver (Cs-C) and the higher of oxygen-transfer speed are. However, the augment of water depth can not reduce the oxygen-transfer resistance; The resistance is weakened as the improvement of aeration, namely oxygen-transfer overall coefficient increases as the enhance of aeration degree. According to regress calculation, Oxygen-transfer overall coefficient is proportional to (AAS)a 0.8 [apparent airspeed]; The Oxygen-transfer coefficient (85% of the coefficient in rinsing) of the mixed liquor in the SUFR is less than one in rinsing.Besides, the Oxygen-transfer capability of SUFR excels one which in SBR, the Oxygen-transfer efficiency of SUFR is 51.6% higher than in SBR. The result of the research shows, partial perfect mixing fluid and holistic complex plug fluid state can be formed in SUFR, and higher Oxygen-transfer efficiency causes energy saving .The SUFR is a new waste-water treatment technique with highperformance and energy saving. It's valuable in technical extending.
