Laser protection technology emerged because laser can injure human eyes and destroyoptical system. Laser protection glass researched in this paper can protect 1064nmlaser and 532nm laser. This glass can be widely used in laser guidance instrument,laser distance measuring instrument and low-energy ,aser blinded weapon.The paper summarizes all kinds of laser protection technology, development situationsand characteristics of all kinds of laser protection technology and importantlydiscusses the research situations of laser protection glass.This paper researches the composition of high iear-earth glass and manufacturetechnology. The paper determines that the glass conlaining Er2O3 absorbs 532nm laserand the glass containing Sm2O3 absorbs 1064nn laser. The glass can contain70%(wt%) rear-earth oxidate. The optical density at 532nm and 1064nm (d=4.0mm)are 3.3 and 3.4 respectively. The paper also researches the method of restrainingcrystallization in high rear-earth borosilicate gla;s and draw the region of glassformation. The paper researches the manufacture technology of laser protection glasscontaining selenium and cadmium.This paper analyses the structure of high rear-earth borosilicate glass with XPS,analyses chemical conditions and chemical shift of O, B, Si, Sm and quantitativelyanalyses chemical conditions of O, B, Sm. Tre conclusions are: B have twooccurrences state in this glass. The relative percent between boron-oxygen-triangleand boron-oxygen-tetrahedron is determined by the percent of free oxygen and [SiO4].Sm have one occurrence state in this glass ,but in the reduction state, there has littleSm2+ in the glass.
