A Study On Micellization Process And Properties Of Novel Surfactants

Surfactant is a kind of amphiphilic molecules having special properties and widely applications. The human daily life puts forward the more and more high request to the species of surfactant, urges the surfactant science to develop continuously.With expanding of the realm that involves, the traditional surfactant still needs more deeply cognition, though there are a lot of researches to them. As a result the related researches are highly anticipated and there are a flood of new references annually. Sodium dodecylbenzene sulfonate (SDBS) is a kind of traditional surfactant. But there are few researches of isomeric compounds of SDBS. As to get more furfher understanding of the isomeric compounds, four isomeric compounds of SDBS have been studied in the thesis.Both gemini surfactant and fluorocarbon surfactant are new surfactants. Fluorocarbon surfactant is the one of the most important surfactants. And it is often generalized for "three high", "two hatres", namely high surface activity, high heat-proof stability and high chemistry stability, and hydrophobic, hydrophilic. It has the highest surface activity up to the day, so that it can make the surface tension of the water (or the organic solvent) declined, on the other hand it can make effect with small quantity. Another property of the fluorocarbon surfactan is the good property of the mixtures of fluorocarbon surfactants and the hydrocarbon surfactants. The mixtures have much higher surface activity.These special functions of the fluorocarbon surfactant make it applied extensively. Especially in the some applied field, fluorocarbon surfactant has the function that the other surfactrant can't replace.Gemini surfactants are made up of two identical amphiphilic moieties connected at the level of the head groups by a spacer group. Gemini surfactants have lower critical micelle concentrations (CMC) than conventional surfactants.The mixtures of surfactants have been applied widely, which have predominant properties than single surfactant.
